Once again, for distant, out-of-the-way Dojo like ours, this kind of instructional is great. First the theory, then some demonstration by students, then a question and explanation. It's like being in class. We're trying to break the Judo mould a little, make it accessible for non-athletes.
Input from me:
* More stuff on gripfighting. * More on entries & set ups.
Hi. Great, practical information here. It'll be useful for us, a small, struggling non-competition oriented Dojo in Jakarta Indonesia looking for a fresh take on the gentle art. Hope to see many more, specially on grips and entries - Tom.
I am glad to see this web-site. There is a big difference between demo techniques and competitive techniques. What I see here are competitive techniques with the detail of demo. This is one of the best ways to demonstrate the best side of Judo and how it relates to not only the sport of Judo but jiu-jitsu as well.
I'm looking for stuff that really works in Randori and in contest. This is a great resource in that respect. Please keep on posting the video tutorials!
I like the premise that these are drills and throws that you find successful in competition. I try to stress the differences between Kodakan judo and what I see at competition. I would like to see some Tachiwaza combinations, I guess that you already planned that. Thank you, Mike Donley Team Katame, Victorville, CA.
