  As a 40-year-old white belt in his seventh week of lessons, I say go for it. It's been one of the most difficult -- and rewarding -- things I've ever attempted. Good luck.

  I just enjoyed your video no.4, angle attack.
  In that you teach throwing uke to the side instead of forward, as it is normally the case with seoi-otoshi / seoi-nage.
  
  My question now is: Wouldn`t you face much more resistance from uke when you try to throw him to the side?
  My understanding is that seoi-nage is so strong because it`s much easier to break uke`s balance forward or backwards, but not to the side (since his point of balance has to be moved little distance to do that).
  
  Please excuse my bad english, I am writing from germany.
  I learned judo in eastern europe when the iron curtain was till separating us from the democracies of this world. Judo was taught very differently there.

  Quality, simple move. Explained brilliantly. Really nice site. I'd like to see an effective evasion or counter to this technique, because I only show pairs. Attack and how to counter is one lesson.

  What a great site!!! First how long have you been up? and then I teach a Jr. class do you have anything for us coaches that have a lot of 10 year olds if not thats ok just keep posting I have given your web site out to at least 10 coaches just today . I like that you can explain your moves in a real basic explanation .You have given us coaches a real insight from one of the top coaches in our nation .Thanks Bob
