That's an awesome choke, but I'm not really sure how I would set up... Do you have another video that leads into this one?

    Hi MMA Gear and SuperJudo,

Firstly, I'd like to say thanks to SuperJudo for posting one of my videos on your site - you've got a great site - Keep up the good work!

Secondly, in response to MMA Gear's question, we do have a number of other videos on our website (hundreds in total - we only posted a small sampling of them on YouTube) that talk about Kakato Jime - take a look at http://judo4mma.com in both the Traditional Judo and MMA Judo sections under chokes/strangles. Also take a look at the joint locks sections for variations on Juji Gatame.

Generally, Kakato Jime tends to get set up from a Juji Gatame (attacking from on top or from guard) or Yoko Juji Gatame attempt. It can also happen from a high Tate Shiho Gatame (full mount) variation where one of your legs is on the outside of Uke's arms - from this position Sankaku Jime (triangle choke) is also a very good option, but Kakato Jime is possible as well.
